Our professionally trained pharmacists can provide treatment for skin conditions including Shingles (herpes zoster), impetigo (school sores), mild to moderate eczema and flare-ups of Mild Plaque Psoriasis.

The following conditions apply:

Impetigo (School Sores)

• Eligible age: 2 years and over
• Exclusions:
• Children under 2 years of age
• Severe or widespread infection

If criteria are met, our pharmacists can supply topical or oral antibiotics (according to NSW Health Protocol) and provide management advice. Where necessary you will be referred to a general practitioner.

Mild to Moderate Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

• Eligible age: 2-65 years
• Exclusions:
• Infants under 2 years
• Adults over 65 years (higher risk of misdiagnosis/complications)
• Severe eczema, extensive body surface area involvement, or secondary infection

Our pharmacist may recommend and supply topical corticosteroids, within NSW Health Protocol and provide management advice. Where necessary you will be referred to a general practitioner or dermatologist.

Shingles (herpes zoster)

• Eligible age: 18 years and over

• Exclusions:
• Immunocompromised patients (incl. chemotherapy, HIV, transplant)
• Severe or disseminated shingles (multiple dermatomes, eye involvement etc)
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women

Our pharmacists can supply antivirals within time window (usually within 72 hours of rash onset) with management advice. Where necessary they will refer you to a general practitioner.

Mild Plaque Psoriasis

• Eligible age: 18 years and over
• Exclusions:
• Severe psoriasis or >10% body surface area involved
• Psoriatic arthritis or systemic involvement
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women
• Children and adolescents (<18 years)

Our pharmacists can recommend and supply topical corticosteroids, coal tar, and other products within NSW Health guidelines and provide management advice. Where necessary they will refer you to a general practitioner.
